Just shut him down for the year...let him get healthy and come back next year. Don't want to give up yet.
Hopefully it’s just a short phase/injury issue because missing on a Guard that early in the draft is a colossal mistake
This has to be his last chance and I don't think he even gets that if he wasn't a first-round pick, I have zero confidence he will get his act together but it's the right move..........so far it's a complete wasted pick, IMO you don't get an interior lineman with that high of a pick unless its a stud OT.
i saw he’s out for the year with injury. But I hear you, missing on a guard in the 1st round is atrocious and a colosal misappropriation of assets. 1st round guards at a minimum have to be stalwart of their team, pro bowlers, and the best at their spot in the NFL. Because the NFL is littered with 5th (etc) round guards that are making pro bowls - of course you got to find them but they are in bunches.
Quoting myself from the beginning of this thread. Green was a huge reach over far better talent and now appears to be a total unplayable, injury prone bust. It was a dumbass pick at the time and looks even worse now.
I unliked this post just so I could hit the like button one more time. Biggest fear was wasting a really good selection on a guard that wasn't regarded as the best and after re-reading the thread it was a concern for a lot of peeps.
Guy got hurt. BTW, I wanted Jordan Davis instead of Green. Davis didn't do much last year because of injury, much like Green. What would your thoughts be on Davis if he played for the Texans and was injured?
I don’t remember who I wanted with this pick, I just remember feeling like it was a reach to select this guy here. It was kinda a head scratcher that no one saw coming from what I remember. I think the only person who called this was Lance Zeurlein.
I liked these guys and was hoping for one of them... - Jordan Davis (13) - Kyle Hamilton (14) - Tyler Linderbaum (25) - Jermaine Johnson (26) The last two are who I really liked, but they went later in RD1. Linderbaum would have been ideal for this offense. Oh well, hopefully the kid recovers and does great things.
If you're going to take an IL that high, you best be right. Linderbaum was the most NFL-ready, no bust, one of those guys, but again you better be right. I trusted that the FO knew something about Green, I should maybe not have trusted them.
Not sure about Davis. I wanted either Hamilton or Linderbaum both selected by a far superior organization.
Demeco is pretty much the only hope for this franchise. Nick sucks at drafting. Picking Stingley over Sauce, now Green who is a bust. Gotta hope that demecos influence turned this team and Nicks drafting around
