Well, they're missing their most important player and are still cruising by the Spurs who we lost to late in the season. GS, if healthy, is the favorite against anyone, including us.
We lost to the Spurs because we sat CP3 and didn't give a crap about winning the game. We had just clinched home court for the entire postseason. Plus, San Antonio is a terrific home team and lousy on the road. Let's see if the Warriors can beat the Spurs as handily in Games 3 and/or 4.
Props to LMA for balling and having to put up with Kawhi and Pop. He's 32 and got one year left on his deal so who knows what SAS will do but he could be a nice 3rd or 4th option for a contender as a 32 or 33 y/o.
I hate the Spurs with a passion but watching them fight for their lives against the Warriors who I hate even more is impressive. They are seriously playing and fighting hard while Kawhi is sitting and watching. I have no idea what’s REALLY going on in the Kawhi situation but if he is really cleared to play and he isn’t then that speaks volumes to his character. You should wanna go out there and fight with your teammates not run away and hide.
The Warriors are without Curry, a more impactful player than CP3. Agree that it may be tougher for them in San Antonio, but it just seems like they're cruising right now.
Since hearing the reports about how Kawhi doesn't like playing with LMA, Pops should go full Evil Genius and put them in a package together in exchange for 1st round picks.
That would put his return around game 4 of the second round. I think that probably has been the target all along.
They’ll just ride Durant all the way and Thompson is shooting lights out. Durant looks unguardable......
Durant is always unguardable when his shot is falling. He can fall out of rythym for a game or two though. GSW still looks very beatable to me. Spurs wouldve been up by 10+ in the 2nd quarter of game 2 if any of their players just hit wide open shots.
I think if the Spurs repeat their game 2 effort in game 3 at home they have a shot. Spurs role players probably hit a few more shots at home and GSW role players cool off a bit. Spurs have to show the same urgency though, not that game 1 crap.
