    Benedetti finished 5-5 on the night, driving in a run with each of his doubles. He's now slashing .305/.435/.461 on the year; he spent the last two weeks of June on the DL with a hamstring issue (IIRC).

    14th-round pick Carlos Diaz hit his first pro homer down in the GCL.

    Kit Scheetz allowed a hit and struck out 7 over 3.1 scoreless; Scheetz is a lefty from Virginia Tech who signed as an undrafted free agent following the draft.

    Framber went 6+ innings and allowed a run on 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. The run was an inherited runner that was charged to him.

    Jake Rogers is in a bit of a lull as of late, but tonight, he's 3-4 with a double, a solo homer (5, 11 season), 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored so far for Buies Creek.

    Eduardo de Oleo, Stephen Wrenn, and Spencer Johnson have also homered for the Carolina Stros.

    He somehow has a .404 OBP (which leads the league) despite hitting .224. 1/4 of his hits are home runs.

    Forrest Whitley & Kyle Tucker are two cornerstone franchise type of talents any team would love to start a team with. But the idea that they are in a farm system for the best baseball team in the Majors, makes me giddy. ☺

    Tucker ends up going 2 for 3 with a homer, a double, 2 rbi, and 2 walks. He has really started to adjust to AA ball. McHugh goes 3.2 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 er, walking 0, and striking out 5. He threw 53 pitches with 37 of them going for strikes.

    Myles Straw went 3-4 with a homer, 2 RBI, and scored twice for Buies Creek.

    The homer is his first of the year and also the 2nd of his career. He's now slashing .328/.435/.425 on the year.
