They may want to wait until he has a slump and comes out of it to show he can overcome some adversity. Or they may just want to give him more than 115 PA. He's striking out 27% of the time so it's not like he doesn't have anything to work on.

I agree he should be promoted but those are some legit reasons why they are holding off.

Here's Tri-City's lineup for a preseason game they'll be playing today:

Nice! Only surprise there is Toro already being in TC after moving to catcher. Great sign assuming he stays there and doesn't move down to GV once Papierski signs.

Agreed! Hard to believe, but this is his first experience in the US, and he's all of 28 games in. It wouldn't be the end of the world to let him enjoy the all-star game next week, and then call him up.

Freudis Nova made his pro debut this morning for the Orange team; he was in the #2 spot and served as the DH, finishing 1-3 and scoring a run.

Angel Macuare got the start for the DSL Blue team today and allowed an unearned run, 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7 in 4 innings.

J.D. Davis (17, solo), Kyle Tucker (2, 11 season; solo), and Jack Mayfield (5, 6 season; 3-run) have homered for Corpus in the first game of their doubleheader in Midland.

Just came across a preliminary Tri-City roster...

Abraham Toro is indeed listed as a catcher.

Moran another homer today with a couple of other hits. Probably among the Top 30 PCL hitters now.

Tyler White is on an unreal tear. He has a 10 game streak of multi-hit games, including 5 hits last night and 4 hits the night before. His slash line in this stretch? .565/.596/1.065 (yes, that's a slugging % over 1.000).

He had only 4 HR in over 200 PA over April and May. He's got 5 in about 50 PA in his last 10 games.

His defensive profile is also fascinating - he's got over 200 innings at 3rd, 100+ innings at 2B and SS, and 50 innings at 1B.

AJ Reed is probably 3rd on the list of potential corner infielder callups right now.

Straw is now slashing .330/.433/.420 with 17 steals on the season. He was off yesterday, but went 3-4 with 2 stolen bases and scored a run on Thursday. That performance snapped a string of 6 consecutive 2-hit games for him.

Kemmer was also getting overshadowed by Fisher, but he has a RC+ of 174 (OPS 1.061) last 30 days in a corner OF spot.

Franklin Perez picked up a loss in a double header, but pitched a gem. Complete game (7 innings), 2 hits, 0 walks, 2 runs (1 ER), and 5 Ks. He got through 7 innings with just 69 pitches.
