He certainly has a Top 100 name. And that is what is really important ;)

Assume in those 5.2 innings he had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. That's a great ratio. I am pretty sure, as a 17 year old, he would still need to work on his control. Thus pointing out his K/BB ratio after 5.2 innings is silly. 17 year old minor league pitchers need to work on everything.

Pointing out K/BB ratio is silly in 5.2 innings. I don't disagree there. Whether it was 4 or 1, it doesn't matter. Acting like the 5.2 innings matters is also silly. He's 17, in the DSL, and has a save. Those three things say a lot more about his control than K/BB regardless of innings.

Corbin Martin came on to pitch 4 innings for Tri-City in a game that originally started on June 30 but was suspended due to rain. He allowed a run on 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4.

Since the game started on June 30... I guess he technically made his pro debut twice?

Kyle Tucker just hit a 2-run homer in Corpus. He's got 12 in AA and 21 on the year.

Another homer for Abraham Toro-Hernandez. It's a solo shot that gives him 8 homers with Quad Cities and 14 on the year.

Ton of helium there. Young for his league, 25 HR power, premium defender, low strikeout %, high walk %, decent pedigree...all the makings of an elite prospect. If he is able to fully convert to catcher next season and carry over this offensive production into a full season in A/High A, look out.

    Jairo Solis @ Johnson City: 5 IP, 3 H, unearned run, BB, 6 K

Again, as a 17-year-old who made it out of the complex leagues in his first season, Solis is probably going to get mentioned in some top prospect lists this offseason. He may very well take the Franklin Perez path starting in 2018.

Tim Hardy allowed 2 hits and struck out 8 over the final 4 innings in Greeneville's 4-1 win.

which will lead to tens of posts wrt Luhnow's failure to sell high and

2 home games then a trip to San Antonio. I wonder how many games they actually get in. Tonight might be their best shot.

They wouldn't do it, but I seriously wonder how Whitley would look coming out of the pen for the Astros right now.

I'm confident he could get Ks right now in majors as a reliever. Whether he would walk guys or give up hard contact, I'm not sure.

And while you're at it, slap a "untouchable" sticker on him.
