What are you using to verify that Bielak (11th) has signed? I cannot find anything.

If you believe the article about Perez signing, Bukauskas has signed. Especially given the earlier article that said Perez couldn't sign until Bukauskas was done.

    That would leave:

Papierski, who will likely sign soon now that the CWS is over

Serrano and Costes, who will negotiate/decide close to the deadline so their Cape Cod performances have bearing on their decision.

Santana, Breaux, and Farrell, who are all likely to go to college, but may get signed depending on how much bonus pool money is left.

But why wouldn't the Astros have announced it, since they've announced others?

Have they announced any prior to them actually signing? Perhaps he has agreed, but not signed a contract yet.

They don't, but if one player's signing depends on another, that other signing is going to be official first.

The Astros now have $3,952,100 remaining in their bonus pool (before overage penalties) with J.B. Bukauskas and Kyle Serrano yet to sign.

High Schoolers #29 Andres Santana (CF, Doral Academy) and #40 Chase Farrel (RHP, Valencia High) might also still be in play, if Kyle Serrano becomes a difficult get.

Well, the remaining cap space is enough to sign Bukauskas for slot and give Serrano the $300k he was rumored to want. We still lose Serrano's salary spot if he doesn't sign, right? So, if he's difficult to sign, we can't just forget about him and move on to the high schoolers unless JB signs at a discount, which I don't know why he would.

I don't like the idea of waiting to sign the 1st pick, since the player can then just calculate the max amount the team can afford without getting penalized and then demand that amount.

That goes both ways though. What if the team signs the players ahead of him for higher numbers than expected and the amount left is less than the number he wanted?

Then he doesn't sign, we lose the draft pool money and end up over the cap and penalized, and we get laughed at for not signing our top pick, this time one without an injury excuse.
