The biggest mistake Cavs made is letting Irving go. He had 2 more years on his contract. When word leaked that he wanted to leave, they should have sat down and convinced him to stay at least one more year. Worst case, they just tell Irving he's not being traded in 2017-18 season but will consider in his final year. With Irving back, they would be clear favorites to repeat as EC champs. Without him, Wizards are considered better than Cavs, not to mention Raptors and Celtics!
yea I don't know know why they were so quick to trade Irving. that was a big mistake but I guess with that BKN pick they were hoping it would possibly be #1 and they can rebuild if Lebron leave. Now Cleveland probably have 8th pick and no Lebron. If Dan Gilbert can't right the ship, there's no way Lebron is staying
Irving is proving to be the real MVP of the Cavaliers. And he is proving it now leading Celtics to head of EC. After Cavs let him go, they can't even beat scrub teams like Spurs missing Leonard.
Well, you could even make the argument that IT was better on the Celtics last year than Kyrie has been.
