Forgot about this... Contratulations, Matthew81404 with his bracket CorradoSLC, WINNER of the CF ESPN Bracket Predictor! He chose the champion and 10 of the top 16 second-round teams correctly!
No it doesn't. Germany didn't care about the match today. Lahm, Klose, Mertesacker are retired, Schweinsteiger injured, and yet, Löw left Müller and Götze on the bench. Hummels and Boateng injured as well. Who cares - Germany won the one that matters.
I get that Germany didn't care about today, but I wouldn't doubt in choosing Argentina if di Maria was playing the Finals. As good as Messi is, di Maria was playing fantastic for them. Heart and soul of that team. He could have made a huge difference that could have tipped the balance in their favor.
Would the Bulls have won the NBA championship with Michael Jordan in 1994 and 1995? The correct answer is - who cares, the Rockets won it .
I'm German and have to admit we likely would've lost vs an Argentina with di Maria and also probably should've lost the actual game. Our defense was complete trash and Argentina came real close multiple times, their wings walked into our penalty area easily. Add a di Maria and this would've ended in a bad way. But hey, that's sports.
Come on now. Germany's defense yesterday was basically three Dortmund reserves plus the Schalke guy, who played wing during World Cup. Also, Kroos is no stopper and won't ever do tacklings, Kramer is unexperienced. Yesterday's game says nothing. Germany could as well say, they would've won the Final after 90min with Khedira on board. Di Maria wasn't that outstanding in Brazil...
NONSENSE. In that case, the U.S.A. should still have won it. Jozy should have been healthy, Bradley missed a bunch of passes, Howard should have had 18 saves instead of 16, etc., etc. Also, Cameroon should still have won it, had they not been the worst team in the tournament!
Agreed, U.S.A. was clearly the best team in the world. Just a few bad bounces of the ball! Glad you agree!
Don't believe this man. He's the former boss of german federation DFB and everybody was very happy, once he left. Zwanziger made a fool out of himself on many occasions during his years as president of DFB. He doesn't have a lot of power or influence in FIFA, he just likes to picture himself as the good guy.
A documentary about Germany's way to the trophy will be out in a few weeks. Check out the trailer, looks very interesting (especially 0:50). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/6sS0eLQweSc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
