I'm using 2013 as the starting point since that was when Netflix started creating original content. What, in your opinion, is the greatest television series so far? I'll throw out a couple of criteria:

-Has/had to have more than one season (upcoming 2nd seasons do not count; sorry Squid Game)
-First season must have existed directly on a streaming service

I'll include some choices but by no means does it represent everything

    Netflix:
    House of Cards (2013)
    Mindhunter (2017)
    The Crown (2016)
    Ozark (2017)
    Stranger Things (2016)
    Narcos (2015)
    BoJack Horseman (2014)

    Amazon Prime
    The Boys (2019)
    Fleabag (2016)
    The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
    Bosch (2014)
    Transparent (2014)

    Hulu
    The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
    Ramy (2019)

    Apple TV
    The Morning Show (2019)
    Ted Lasso (2020)

    I agree with @Xerobull

But I'd also like to throw in Orphan Black. If only for how awesome an actress Tatiana Maslany is.

The Boys and Umbrella Academy are also high on my list.

House of Cards was the OG so it deserves a ton of credit. Unfortunately, it fell off a cliff from its peak and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Plus, Spacey did his creepy stuff so that ruined the show for many. But the first few seasons were some of the best episodes I've ever seen in any show.

Of those listed, and because I can't think of any other right now, I would have to vote Stranger Things as the greatest. It's the greatest because it has had the biggest cultural/social impact and its relevance remains to this day. It's not my personal favorite of those listed but it was and is a big deal to several demographics.

The correct answer is The Handmaid's Tale.

Ah good one! I had to DVR it (back when I had cable) because I didn't have Hulu.

You're correct. I just steamed it ..so that was on my mind. I think it originally aired on BBC America.

I haven't seen The Man From the High Castle but it's got to better than some of the ones listed.

Or True Detective.. any season. Those were really, really good.

Edit: ****. Okay, not technically a streaming show either.

ZeroZeroZero was good. That's up there pretty high for me. I guess it was only a handful of episodes & it might have aired originally overseas....

But then, so did Fortitude. Which might actually get my vote (first season).

    There's Fargo too,

I've gotta go with Ozark, Ted Lasso and Fleabag. The latter deserves a mention because it was fully realized and ended exactly how the creator intended. A lot of the other shows listed all had really high peaks, but swift descents and/or unfinished stories. I'm willing to add Ozark and Ted Lasso because they both have time-boxed their runs and won't run into the issues that ongoing series do.

Even though I loved Mindhunter, its unceremonious cancellation left a lot hanging in terms of story. The Stranger Things kids are all really old now and I'm skeptical that the final season will have the charm of earlier runs.
