Thanks you Clutch! BBS reader since 1997, my junior year in college, and the year the Chuckster join the fold.
I haven't been around on the BBS all ten years, but I remember this being one of the first websites i really got into on the internet. I didn't register til a couple of years after I first visited the site, but man this place rocks. It's hard to believe how much the website and BBS have grown in all of that time. Some fans have come and gone with the addition of guys like Barkley, Pippen, Francis, and so on...but there have been quite a few that have stuck around through all of the ups and downs of the franchise. We've been in a pretty long downswing, but I have faith, that with the help of the great fans, the Rockets will turn it around real soon and have us really believing that this is Clutch City.
Congrats Clutch. It's amazing how much time I have spent surfing on this site. Even the HOURS I've spent in the chatroom doing PBP. But....I enjoy every second of it all. You have created a GREAT community.
Better late (OK *way* late) than never. It took me so long b/c I rarely venture out of the Astros part of the board. CONGRATS! I remember back when astrosconnection.com, astrosdaily.com, and clutchcity.net were the "big 3" as far as sports fansites... ...and then there was only one. Kudos!
Before clutch, the only place to talk Rockets was on the gopher news groups - the one dedicated to the Rockets was trolled by some big Sonics fan...name I remember was Caz or something. Anyone else recall those horribly sad days?
Before Clutchcity, I mostly read AOL's sportspage with their weekly (or monthly in the offseason) team updates by Michael Murphy. Chron underreported the Rocks as they do now, and Rockets.com was shyte. Didn't even check the forums until the Francis trade, but the frontpage was enough.
Just out of curiosity I notice that members are having to sign in. Of course, it is expected with such a heavy number of participants but how can there be over a hundred guest viewing at the same time when one has to be registered and signed on to view the BBS?
The guests aren't actually viewing the BBS. Those are people who hit the front page of the BBS area and view the "you must be a member to login" information. They are people that are hitting that front page, seeing the info and either registering or leaving. They aren't actually seeing the board.

Honestly... didn't think much about what Clutch have to go through other then he have to pay for everything with his own money before reading Jeff's post. After reading it, don't know what to say. Just Wow...... My new respect to you for your dedication Clutch.
