I still count the Steelers one as said win. I'm not going to get down on them too bad for losing to two Super Bowl contenders on the road....

I remember when I watched that show I gave up hope on any chance that Game of Thrones would actually be good. Thankfully, HBO is smart.

Correct. In fact, there are a couple of things in A Dance With Dragons that you'll miss if you haven't read the Dunk & Egg Tales.
The first & final seasons were meh. But the last few of season 1 until the end of the 4th were incredible. The Shadow War was terrific.
Storm of Swords is longer & is the one the show runners want to split into two seasons.
