Could Dumervil be an option? Apparently was cut by the Broncos...I would rather cut Antonio Smith for Dumervil??? A combo of Dumervil and Watt seems quite exciting...
Wow, just, unbelievable. He's got to be the biggest free agent available now, right? There's no waiver wire to go through right now, is there?
Broncos have a lot of dead money now so it's almost impossible for them to bring him back. He just pocketed some dough so maybe he'll give someone a discount.
Albert Breer @AlbertBreer The timeline ... At 1:25 pm MT, Dumervil accepted the Broncos' proposal to slice his base salary from $12 million to $8 million. Dumervil and his reps were informed they needed to fax a signed deal back by 1:59 MT. When it didn't come back, Denver released him. The Broncos have a fax with the signed deal from Dumervil timestamped at 2:06 pm MT. Denver source: "We had to protect ourselves." ........ My understanding is, on top of the rest of it, Denver gave Dumervil a 1 pm MT deadline to accept the paycut. He verbally accepted at 1:25. The two sides had gone back and forth all morning. The Broncos hasn't heard from Dumervil at 1 pm, were preparing to cut him. Then, the call came at 1:25 pm. Broncos told Dumervil's people that fax needed to be in NY by 1:59. And that obviously didn't happen. He'd like that 8-12 million back but unlikely he gets that on the open market. Not when the other top guys got less than that.
Wow what is this 1995? Get a mail currier. We don't have the cap space regardless...we need to make some moves Detroit is looking at Bey, everyone is getting better and we're getting worse
If we miss out on Reed, instead of spending money just to do so, how about this? -Attempt to fill needs through draft -Sign some economical stop gaps -Use the remaining cap space, and restructure AJ's contract to pay him more THIS year, freeing up money that will be needed for the likes of Cush and JJ
didnt see the link so here it is http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...akes-considerable-pay-cut-201656213--nfl.html would love to scoop up elvis!
No. Team needs to get more explosive at the position. Darrius Heyward-Bey would be my choice among the free agent wideouts out there right now.
I'll be upset if they don't at least inquire about him. Depending on the price he'd be a very good pick-up especially with our lack of anything behind AJ.
