I don't think it's ever too early to speculate who might be MVP this year, and I think the competition will be close. I don't think Tim Duncan deserved it last year (Jason Kidd should've gotten it) but this year, I think the MVP will be Kobe Bryant. With Shaq being out early, Kobe will have to take over the team, a challenge that I'm sure he's more than willing to accept. I do think that Kidd, Paul Pierce, Garnett, TD, etc. will still be in the hunt, but I think Kobe pulls away with the award.
The Franchise. Not to many people outside of this web site think the Rockets will do to much this season; so when they have a good season and have a playoff berth, the Franchise will be considered tremendously.
Well, I believe Duncan DID deserve it last year. But, I think Kidd will win it next season because the Nets will finish first in the east again, Shaq will miss some of the season, the Spurs will finish fourth in the west as opposed to second, and most importantly he'll get sympathy votes from last season. If the Spurs finish in the top two again during the regular season I give it to Duncan. Or if the Celtics can finish 1st or 2nd in the east, I think Pierce has a good chance too. So I rate 'em: 1. Kidd 2. Duncan 3. Pierce dark horse candidate: Vince Carter
Tim Duncan. He is IMO the best player in the game. Shaq may be "more dominant" but they end up with similar numbers and Timmy doesn't need to use "dem 'bows" to score his points. Not to mention Shaq has Kobe "Most overrated player in the NBA, but still pretty darn goog" Bryant while Duncan has Steve Smith? Jesus Parker?
TD.... MVP, Finals MVP, all-NBA. Parker should be improved, Ginobili is a huge addition, keep DRob healthy, and SA and TD just roll!
What kind of numbers would Francis have to put up for him to be considered a MVP? I think he would have to put up 24 pts 8 asts 6 rbs If the Rockets can go out and win 50 games this year those numbers are not out of the realm of possiblities if Francis can stay healthy all year. Other than that my money will go on Shaq.
i hope it is francis but i doubt it will happen. its to hard for a PG to win it who is not among the leaders in assist. my best is on McGrady, cant really go wrong w/ that. you never know how things will work out in the east, if the magic are a top 3 or 4 seed. TMAC will get strong consideration
I think u r right but I want him to get more assists this year and I think he will so it would b more like this: 24 pts 8 rbs 7.5 asts
