I crossed over into different cliques.

I was in band, so of course I hung out with the "band geeks" although the drummers were always perceived as a little bit cooler than the everyday band geek because we all had long hair (ie. mullets) and ear-rings. :D

But I also hung out with a lot of the football players. I guess because I was such a sports nut and none of my band geek friends were. We all played basketball on the weekends.

Wait... your high school HAD a Pickleball team? Did you grow up in Seattle?

I played the violin, so I kind of hung with the "classier" orchestra crowd. (we hated the band geeks)

I was also in the cynical underacheiving crowd of kids who were in all the honors classes but didn't care.

Ah high school. It was a crappy and stupid time.

    Didn't mean to be offensive.

But that is what we were called by everyone. I don't ascribe to using the term in every conversation

Ditto. But my sophomore year, they stopped having one, so we just moved the section to a walkway on Maple, and watched for Dugan. :p

Also, there weren't really "cliques" at Bellaire when I was there. I hung out with every group, for the most part.

I hung out with the smart kids, the advanced placement class kids. I wasn't popular, but I had a lot of friends, and they weren't superficial. I loved high school. The social part, at least.
