It's all shady as hell. My gut says Ohtani is paying his guy to take a fall, but who knows? News flash: these guys are nothing special aside from their athletic ability and financial importance. That last part is the most important, and why we won't probably ever accurately know what really happened. Ohtani is just a dude. A lot of dudes bet. I guarantee a lot of that happens in sports, they're just usually better at covering it up!
Yea, I think the stories changing so fast at the start put a red flag up for me...........if they were tight as reports say, I could see the interpreter taking the hit knowing he will make sure your ok. I don't hate the guy but I do hate the Dodgers so if this hurts them at all then so be it
"Administrative leave with pay" until June 1 (at the earliest), because the criminal investigation in the Dominican is not completed yet. Seems fair to treat Ohtani the same. Or any other player.
Completely agree. Franco is dead to rights though and that's far worse than gambling. I think MLB wants the Wander situation to go away as quick as possible
Manfraud saying it will be a *quick* investigation is asinine... probably less effort looking into it than the Tyler Skaggs case
Quick as in, nothing to see here. Gotta protect the golden goose and his Dodgers. Now the feds on the other hand may not be as easy to whitewash this incident.
Stern promised full cooperation with the FBI following the Donaghy scandal... but maneuvered quick enough to cover the tracks first.
I’d be pissed if I were the other teams in the division. He’s definitely getting preferential treatment for not being suspended while the investigation is ongoing. Do you think manny Machado or Fernando Tatis would be treated the same?
He had practice in deflecting the heavy drug use on the Lakers to... the Rockets after they won the 1986 Western Conference Finals.
