I'd hate to trade up when we need a CB, WR, RB, another good pass rusher, and an offensive lineman for depth.
This FA has me convinced Texans are going WR in 1st. D line is done. LB core is done. Secondary has plenty depth. Added RB1. Wouldn’t even be surprised now to see Texans trade up for WR.
I've been saying for a while I wouldn't go WR in the first round. I guess I would be a lot more open to it now with the defensive free agent signings the Texans have made. But the more I think about. It would kind of feel like last year's draft. Caserio traded up to get DeMeco's guy. Maybe this year they get someone for Stroud to make him happy. If one of the Texas WRs is there at 23 I would be really happy. I'd still be okay with a CB/S/DT or trading down a few spots if there's multiple WRs on the board they like.
Definitely a receiver and a corner in the first 2 rounds. I like getting the Cornerback first because there are more options at receivers in the 2nd round than there are CBs. 23rd: Dejean Cooper/ Nate Wiggins 59: Roman Wilson
Cooper would be perfect fit for the Texans if they don't sign a veteran safety. He'll do great in coverage with his speed and athleticism. I'm so torn between DT, WR, or CB with first pick. I'm fine with WR at 2nd pick though.
Really starting to like Cooper more, now that the Texans improved the DL. Mitchell won't be there at #23. Depends on what the Texans do to finish FA I guess.
Trading back and getting someone like T'Vondre Sweat and maybe Legette in the second, while picking up an extra fourth to get Corum would be a good deal.
I thought thats what we would get alot of cause that's what the patriots did alot of but Nick has been trading up more than he has been trading back
True, but I have to say that the Texans have done really well with the FA. This is huge for a team that had a lot of money to spend and did so really well.
SC had its pro day today. from Reddit DE Tyreek Johnson (6’4 284): Johnson did 33 reps of 225 and ran a very good 4.70. His 35 inch and 10’4 broad jump was also elite for his size. WR Xavier Legette (6’1 222): He ran a blazing 4.39 at the combine and did 24 reps on the bench today, which would’ve led receivers at the combine. He’s probably a lock to go in round 1 now.
I don’t think he’s more than a middle of the pack CB if he stays there. His CF range ability makes him, to me, a future elite safety, and I think he’ll be one of the best TE cover guys. I would draft him at 23 cause the Texans need a safety and ultimately I think he fits DeMeco’s D very well
I think he’s a Ramsey clone at CB with the ability to play anywhere in the secondary. Elite athleticism and production
Again...there's so many round 1 "locks", some players have to drop. I don't see Legette going in the first round with Thomas, AD, Troy, McConkey, Keon, and Worthy all viable bottom first round picks. I think he'll probably end up mid 2nd round.
