Bridges is throwing now. Dude absolutely doesn't want to waste his remaining prime years on this rudderless ship. But he isn't enough for us to give them their picks back.
That's a lot of nasty road games. Toronto game is key. The only unfortunate part is that many of those teams are injured or terrible.
If I was to have it my way, I'd have the 8th and JG going into the draft, and come away with Alexandre Sarr and Reed Sheppard. Extend the timeline on this rebuild just a little bit, and fill the gaps we need filled. 1. Fred/Reed 2. Amen/Cam 3. DB/Tari 4. Bari/Sarr 5. Alperen/Adams I would then love to let these guys battle it out and get more data... /Dreaming...
Key Matchups in 3/8/24 Atlanta @ Memphis Both teams without their star players. Atlanta still a play-in team so may some fight but hoping Memphis pulls the win. Houston @ Portland Houston should win this game which would tie them with Utah. Portland winning inches them closer to Memphis and Toronto in wins.
1. I think Claxton gets more money than they want to pay. 2. Bridges has been a relative Iron Man for forever. I think the odds of him missing a few games, go up the next couple years. 3. no matter what you think of our prospects, These Brooklyn picks may represent the highest percentage chance that we have of being able to land a generational type talent outside of pur current roster.
Key Matchups 3/9/24 BRK @ CHA Nets losing this game is crucial. Could start a nasty losing streak. TOR @ POR A Raptors victory (23-40) and Nets lose (25-38) puts them only a game a part. UTA @ DEN Jazz (28-35) winning puts them 0.5 games up on Rockets (28-35). Looking at both teams rest of schedule I'd guess Rockets will have the better record. Jazz and Rockets face each other 3 more times so it shall get interesting...
You are Def dreaming cuz no way JG gives you Sarr lol Maybe if Sheppard falls to 15th+ you can trade JG for him. Honestly I would trade JG for Johnny Furphy at this point. I think that dude is extremely underrated due to how young he is. He reminds me of a freshman Brandon Miller.
I don't think he is throwing, he wants to make that max money. I think he just sucks lol. He is kinda like FVV he is supposed to be the 3rd option but he got made into the first (or in our case the 2nd) option.
Nets just lost to Hornets on a B2B. Looks like firing their coach midseason was the right move...for us lmao.
Ok, I know this is a fantasy, but on my 4th sim lottery this morning, this popped up. Maybe BBall Gods give us a break this year. I'd be ecstatic if somehow our pick lands in the Top 4.
Reed Shephard is probably going to be a top 3 pick at this rate. His stock is skyrocketing ATM. Shame because he would have been a good fit on our roster. Maybe we'll get lucky in the lottery for once!
I don't want this "creeping up on" bulls***. I want "7th worst / 6th worst / etc with a bullet", ASAP.
I think most of you guys are over-valuating the Brooklyn picks. I think New Jersey were not greatly positioned are positioned to be mediocre to 8th seed contenders going forward. As musc as we sh*t on bridges around here, he is still a very good player. So is Claxton. Cam is decent. Simmons is an expiring contract and the Phoenix picks while not great have the potential to be decent once Duran inevitably gets hurt or begs out. Their owner will not tank and they are in a NY market. Once the 24 pick is expended our leverage is significantly reduced.
It's a damn shame Scottie Barnes had to go out with injury. They for sure would have surpassed Brooklyn but now will probably tank to end the season. The different between Brooklyn finishing 8th vs 6th is immense for our chances to land a top 4 pick.
