What do they feed Jalen during the ASB? Whatever it is, is it worth considering feeding him that same thing from the start of the season?? Post-ASB he usually looks like a very nice piece on a basketball team! Stats pre // post FG%: 40.5 // 44.7 3G%: 31.8 // 36.8 TS%: 52.7 // 56.1 Points per 100 possessions while on the floor: 103 // 113 PPG: 18.4 // 22.2 RPG: 4.0 // 3.7 APG: 3.2 // 3.5 Any thoughts on why he looks like a decent SG post all star break each of his 3 seasons so far, while looking like a terrible choice pre-ASB in each of his 3 seasons so far??
Our seasons are pretty much done by All Star break, so there is probably less pressure. He does not seem like he is able to handle pressure situations well so far.
I mean, the full last 2 weeks of the season now seem to be against teams that are either tanking or resting for the playoffs, so it seems not that weird that a young player looking to score would find more success
He usually plays better after all-star break since all of his career after ASB we were ready to lay it down and take a beating to tank so he felt no pressure. I’m just worried that Tillman might give him +$25 mil per year contract this off-season if he plays well for remainder of the games. I rather sit on his contract and really see he is star worthy player next season. If he plays well I won’t mind paying +$30mil but if he plays poorly again first half let him test market.
Fools gold! Maybe it will move the needle on his trade value although it would take a blind GM to not look at all the baggage.
He's playing just okay, really nothing special. I don't think he gets major minutes on another team, still a lot of volume and a lot of inconsistency
This is who Jalen is. When the games count, he's usually bad. When they don't, he improves some. He remains a very erratic player on offense who makes too many poor decisions and still doesn't realize what his weaknesses are.
I still don't know why he keeps driving to the lane when there are people in it. One of these 4 things happen: It bounces off his leg, loses the grip of it, they snatch the ball out of his hands, he tries the weirdest layup that will only go in when the sun rises in the west. His decision making is abysmal and he doesn't learn. He doesn't have the explosiveness, raw strength of Cam. Cam can get away with that by bulldozing his way to the basket but Jalen can't. Kid doesn't know his strengths and weaknesses. He doesn't know himself.
Let's be fair - the 2 seasons before this, the season was gone 2 months in. Didn't seem to release that pressure valve!
I am really digging his effort and body language. Outside of missing some threes, he has looked fantastic. I hope it continues.
Alot of teams tank and rest their players so players like Green pad their stats in low pressure, meaningless games.
