I started following the Rockets as a kid in the 80s and he was a big part of the 1986 Finals team. RIP Bobby Joe

I'll never forget Bobby Joe! He retired and came back to lead the Rockets to the 1986 Championship.

    Rest in Peace Robert Reid.

I can still remember him guarding Magic when we played the Lakers.

That was about the time I started taking basketball seriously.

Hope his later years were good ones.

He was two Rockets legends in one:

First: #50, Robert Reid, who retired for religious reasons after 5 seasons.
Then he came back as #33, Bobby Joe Reid, who gave us 5 seasons before being traded.

    RIP, Legend(s)

Well, I’m sorry and surprised to hear this. Streaky shooter, but when he was on, he could win games.

Big part? He saved that season. He, along with Rodney MacCrae (sp?), elevated that season from the depths of nose knows where.

Wow, shocked to hear this. Started watching the Rockets during the 85-86 Finals. That team could of gone all the way with Bobby Joe.

    RIP Rockets Legend.

Damn, this one hurts. Had the craziest release point on his jump shot but it worked. RIP
