Even LeBron needed a lot of work on his defense and shooting when he first came into the league (but was already great anyway).
He definitely had to improve and refine his game but he immediately on say one was a high usage player that already impacted winning at age 19 which is insane.
Yeah, agree. In fairness to Amen, I think we all knew there was a drop off at 4. Amen clearly has all the potential in the world, but he was really chosen based on his ceiling more so than what he would bring on day 1. I think the bet was just as much based on his work ethic and competitiveness as it was what scouts thought he would enter the league with from a skills perspective.
I figured those that saw the Morris twins will realize that there's always a superior one of the two, hopefully we picked the right one. Remains to b seen since amen isn't healthy enough to stay on the court
I agree there is always a superior twin but the skills drop off isnt that great between the two twins I would take a fraction of what Asuar is doing from Amen on the 2nd team. with time to grow. Draymond said that he thought BOTH brothers were built for the NBA plus Amen said Ausar has never beat him, lol
Ausar frequently beats Amen.......and actually Amen admitted to that. At Video Games where Ausar is the King.
In this case it is not really superiority but the usage of them both. Amen wants to be used as a ball handler while Ausar is used as Franz Wagner without shooting which fits him better.
Franz Wagner does hell a lot of ball handling though. And none of the Thompson bro's will be close to Wagner, he is on a whole different level.
Best I can find is this quote from Kelly Iko's article last Thursday: "I caught up with rookie Amen Thompson briefly after the game, who told me he’s feeling great and is itching to get back on the floor. He’s no longer in a walking boot, and while he said a return this week is unlikely, we’ll see if he’s cleared to resume basketball activities after that." Perhaps back as early as Friday?
It’s funny how people were concerned about the skinny minnys like Wembanyama and Brandon Miller, but it’s Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson that can’t seem to stay on the court.
For everyone getting bent out of shape about Ausar looking good while Amen sits....if the Rockets had Ausar Thompson right now and started him, we'd probably be under .500. Amen can do all these things and better. It's why he went 4th (should've gone 2nd). Shitty teams always have rookies that look awesome. Let him earn his stripes. Ausar hasn't yet and needs to play because frankly....Cade sucks.
