What a goal by Vini Jr. Real are just something else in the CL. They have City panicking as they haven't been put under this kind of pressure all season. 2nd half and 2nd leg will be very interesting.
Finally a good Bayern game again. If we beat Leipzig next week, the title should be a done deal. Still hope Schalke remains in the Bundesliga. Don't like the club or their bum fans, but wherever they play there's an atmosphere.
Nice to see Tuchel bringing back proper possession & dominance, under Nagelsmann we played stupid powerball up&down the pitch even vs relegation teams and no lead ever felt safe. This team should be really nice with a new striker&6 after a full preseason with Tuchel.
On par with his goal was De Bruyne's equalizer in the 2nd half. Following the fixtures this past weekend in the Premier League and Arsenal dropping points against Brighton (was painfully obvious that would happen) City all but have the Premier League wrapped up. Weather or not this season is a success is going to ride on Tuesday's return fixture against Real in the Etihad. With all due respect to Inter (who are in a great spot to advance to the finals after winning the first leg 2-0) whoever wins the 2nd leg of City/Real will most likely end up winning the Champion's League and as a City fan I desperately want to witness a Champion's League winner.
It definitely was a banger Thought it was a great game and the 2nd leg can certainly go any way. If Pep doesn't Pep this game and overthink his lineup, City should win. I'd agree the winner of this game is the overwhelming favorite in the final...but stranger things have happened. As a United fan, I sort of hope City wins...so that Pep decides he's done enough and retires...and then Haaland moves to Real. And mostly I hope a City win in the CL affects their desire in the FA Cup final and United remain the sole treble winner.
So in the group stage our guys dominated Inter twice with ease and would've probably eliminated them again in the knockout stage, still they're going to the Final and remain our last hope against skyblue plastic. The beauty and pain of this competition...
Perfect result against Real yesterday. Now as long as we remember to keep a defensive mid on the field against Inter we should be fine.
the way city was able to press high and recover the ball was something else we're talking real madrid here but they made them look like some championship squad
Sevilla in EL final again. They are the biggest mystery in the football history. This is beyond abnormal.
Amazing story in the EFL League 1 Promotion Playoff semifinal between Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday. Peterborough was up 4-0 after the first leg. Sheffield Wednesday ties it up during normal time...gives up an own goal at 106'...ties it up again at 115'...and then wins it in spot kicks. Largest comeback in the EFL playoff history. It was awesome to watch. Kind of like how I enjoy Minor League baseball, I love following the lower leagues. When I go back to England, my plan is to go to more League 1 and League 2 games than to EPL games (which are also awesome).
Probably lost the league title today, terrible performance. Heads need to roll for what we did since van Gaal, Jupp and Pep left, coaches we hired afterwards didn't fit the possession system of prior years at all and this team has lost all possession dominance and technical ability. Adding guys like Goretzka, Sabi, Laimer shows the same failure, signings made without any coherent idea of what our football philosophy is. Müller has also been sh** in most of his games this year, people need to stop saying he's our saviour, he's part of the problem and clearly past his prime. This team is going nowhere by sticking with guys like Müller, Goretzka or an inconsistent Gnabry that are above criticism from the German football lobby and media, we need to go back to rewarding actual performances. First steps have to be signing a marquee striker and defensive midfielder, zero room for experiments or 3rd tier cheaper guys that won't help from day one. Otherwise next season will be a real pain in the azz.
