Gordon should have been traded two years ago. As for why this season and the last several have been so bad it’s not hard to understand. There is a lot of parity in the league right now. Basically every team has an all star level or two talent on it. We do as well but ours are young and inexperienced therefore inconsistent shooting, stupid turnovers and bad defense. This summer free agent talent should be added along with another top pick. The only thing that’s going to fix our situation is more time.
Yes, when Ego mentions iso, he surely isn't referring to the one guy who isos the most by far on the team. Because that's too much of a stretch isn't it. Common sense be gone!
Stone Pros: Drafts well Has maintained cap flexibility Stone cons: Hasn’t made great trades Hasn’t managed roster well Player development and coaching not looking good
I agree with about everything stated except for trades. You didn't like the return of the Harden trade? *Getting Christian Wood and 1st round pick in sign and trade with Pistons. *Then 2nd Wood trade with Mavericks *Oladipo for Olynyck * Westbrook for Wall and 1st rounder * PJ Tucker for Wilson, Augustin and 1st round pick That is just really off the top of my head without doing any research. R.Stone has made some nice trades but everything else you said is spot on.
Wait, you think the players listen to Silas these days? I don't think anyone has paid attention to him in a while.
I think the only really good trade Stone’s made was the KPJ for a 2nd rounder. But that’s just me. the Wall for Westbrook trade turned out much better for Washington. The Oladipo situation turned out bad. Harden was fine but Stone missed out on getting another prospect or pick. Wood was barely fair value.
More than one thing can be true. Gordon has offered to come off the bench. He does not want to be on the Rockets and caused issues under MDA and Silas. He can be a snake, the fact that Stone has failed to realize this is an indictment of his ability to measure character. Gordon is right, Silas isn’t very good and KPJ is not a winning player.
Knew I forgot something. Yes, the KPJ trade was a steal. I was referring to the Oladipo trade shipping him out of town as a nice move. Oladipo was horrible but no harm taking a flier on him with his expiring contract. Thank God he wasn't extended.
Good Stone Trades: * Robert Covington for two first rounders * S&T for Christian Wood * James Harden for all those picks (player part didn’t turn out great) * Getting Kevin Porter, Jr. for basically nothing * Two conditional first rounders for Alperen Sengun * Moving down from 26 to 29 for two second rounders and still getting TyTy Washington * Exchanging unwanted contracts with OKC to net a second rounder for ~$900k “Meh” Stone Trades: * Russell Westbrook for John Wall and a first rounder * PJ Tucker for some re-arranged picks that won’t amount to that much net positive value * Taking on Sekou Doumbouya to get a second rounder (may have been an overpay) * Getting off Daniel Theis for expiring salaries (including Bruno Fernando) * Christian Wood for a late first rounder and filler (Boban notwithstanding) Bad Stone “Trades”: * Victor Oladipo for a Kelly Olynyk rental (after much ballyhoo of a bigger return) * The John Wall Non-Trade (allegedly refusing to take multiple second rounders for him) * The Eric Gordon Non-Trade…or whatever the eventual Gordon trade ends up being
I bet Dipo wish he had taken that deal Rockets were said to offer him which I think it was either 2 or 3 yr deal around 45$ million
I just want an Eric Gordon: “there’s no improvement” t shirt with his smug face, Clutch. Make it happen
I don't agree with the drafting part. IMO, should've drafted Mobley or Barnes instead of Green and Grimes instead of Christopher.
Silas has no idea what to do with his lineups. His starting 5 has all the players who need shots while his bench unit has no player that needs shots. Why is he not staggering Jalen and KPJs minutes more. Why does he routinely play a lineup where Gordon is the only person remotely capable of creating his own shot etc.
