The CDC evidently announced yesterday that there won't be enough masks/respirators for everyone. I've had no luck finding them myself. Price gouging has become an issue online, as have counterfeit respirators. I'm kicking myself for not having some on hand years ago. I should have known better!
I've been googling stuff in response to this thread, and the other Wuhan thread and all my Google Ads are suddenly returning results for prepper survival food, military anti NBC gas masks, and industrial protection equipment. If I looked at the ads Google was feeding me, i think I'd put me on a terrorist watch list. I'm going to have to start googling "puppies" and "rainbows" to get myself out of this hole.
Alright. So far I have procured two young women for breeding purposes. I also have a tremendous amount of guns and ammunition at the ready and ample amounts of clean water and food. I have increased the number of people that may come to my farm by two. I have ensured they are excellent shots and both have vasectomies so that they are not a breeding threat. Both also are older and their wives have assured me that they have flat libidos. I have started building traps on my property to keep out scavengers and there are ample deer and other animals to provide protein. I think I am good.
Mrs. rimrocker and I are revising our wills tomorrow. The big impetus is youngest daughter recently reaching 18, so no more minor considerations. Still, with all this going on and particularly for those of us 50+, it might be a good idea to look at creating or revising a will.
I tried again this afternoon. No luck. Good idea though. Although there are some differences between a surgical N95 respirator and one designed for construction, I'll take what I can get at this point.
This is why firefighters have stupid looking pornstar mustaches. I'll stick with the beard as long as I can.
Not that it's going to come to this, but I was thinking earlier today about the things I would really, truly miss once I ran out and really cannot be replaced/substituted with homemade/homegrown stuff... saltwater seafood: shrimp/crab/salmon/oysters etc... avocado tires cold cans of beer asian food (soy sauce, fish sauce based) tobacco coffee/tea internet p*rn movies I'm sure there's others I can't remember right now.
I told my sister this morning and she got lucky with some n95 mask from home depo. Sold out now. Will do my searching in the stores today.
Here is some classic out of context clickbait fearmongering... _______ CDC warns men about facial hair dangers as coronavirus spreads https://nypost.com/2020/02/26/cdc-warns-men-about-facial-hair-dangers-as-coronavirus-spreads/amp/
I have been paying the slow drifter in town (with taquitos) to siphon all the gas from all my neighboring farms to ensure my compounds needs are met. I also have floor plans for all the near by farms if it becomes necessary to use force.
The Beard was before Bandholz. But I guess White Guys work better for emojis (more contrast) and charts like that ... or ... the CDC and Style Writers are RACIST!! MJ should be the toothbrush, too, if we aren't going to call it The Hitler anymore. The MJ.
Do you have a miniature size copy of the Constitution that fits in your breast pocket? +1 if it also includes the Ten Commandments. I know a guy who can etch stone slabs if you're in it for the long haul
So...I finally broke down after reading this and ordered supplies yesterday on amazon (no n-95 masks or value pack hand sanitizers). I was able to buy a few respirators and a few n95 masks on antidotesupply.com but they jacked up there prices by $20 since yesterday. my buddy owns a body shop and they use those N-95 and he tried to order some but they won't be here until may. I also went to Costco at 1030am to stock up, and it was pretty packed, not sure if that's normal for that time. I bout lots of water, paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, Clorox wipes, powder and regular peanut butter, oatmeal, 20 lb bag of rice, etc. I had to take a shower after loading and unloading all of this crap at my place lol.. There is definitely a run on things, so good luck folks...Going to the BBQ cookoff tonight, not sure i'll see people in masks, but it won't surprise me...
