You get a 25 game suspension! You get a 25 game suspension! You get a 25 game suspension! Collins statement to ESPN: "First I want to apologize to my teammates, the Hawks organization, our fans, partners and community as a whole for this situation. I understand the impact this matter has on what we are trying to achieve together this season, and I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed in myself for putting all us in this position. I have always been incredibly careful about what I put in my body, but I took a supplement, which unbeknownst to me, had been contaminated with an illegal component. I plan to appeal my suspension in arbitration so I can get back on the court as soon as possible and continue to contribute to our 2019-20 campaign."
I think some stuff should be legalized, like medication for a cold, fever.....sometimes they contain some prohibited ingredient. It is gradually becoming a thing.
a complete joke. Only 25 games suspension? And completely laughable that he "accidentaly" ingested a HGH peptide. In Tennis , players are visited by WADA agents even in the middle of the night, all year long even in the offseason and if caught with such substances they are banned for years..not a month!
Depending on whom you suspend, I mean if you suspend Ayton, the Suns are still winning, it is a team sport. If you suspend Federer, Nadal, Djokovic or Monfils, a nation is losing a world class player for an extended time. The drug could enhance your stamina and strength but I doubt it makes you a more accurate shooter.
Lebron and Wade would fail every single drug test. Wade's jaw measurements alone would be off the chart. No hyperbole.
It makes a huge difference. In tennis if you’re fresh you tend to make less unforced errors. I think the fresher guy won in 2012 Aussie between Djokovic and Nadal not necessarily the more skilled guy. If you’re already a decent to good shooter stamina plays a huge role in shooting as well. Just look back at the Rockets in game 7 of 2018. After running a 7 man rotation the whole playoffs it caught up to us. We shot 7-44 from three and Ariza was especially spent after chasing around KD and shot 0-9.
I have no idea how effective and long lasting those drugs are......but yep, I would consider upping the punishment to 30-50 games or a whole season excluding the Postseason. Would compartmentalize with colors and as to level of enhancement, severity of harm it can do.......
It all depends on how he was cycling. Even if he was just micro-dosing it gives you a huge advantage mentally as well. At the highest level of Pro-sports these factors plays a major role.
I am sure stamina played a role in that brickfest but I think the pressure of the moment also played a part
Man what a pity. Ayton and Collins were dope. I feel when they come back after these long suspensions they may not play as dopely as before.
Given what we know about the industry - totally unregulated, little quality control, etc - any pro athlete that takes a supplement not given to him directly by the team medical staff should be suspended for stupidity.
