Was wondering how many outs there were, and two handcuffs our chances too much. Hinch is robotic when it comes pinch running late. He needs to reconsider said strategy. Stros have lost ground to NYY since acquiring Greinke.
Yes, they’re in a rut right now. But if you include their game against CLE the night of deadline day, they’re 8-6 since acquiring Greinke. That’s far from awful.
How the hell does this lineup go scoreless in 12 out of 13 innings against a bunch of pitchers with ERA's above 4...in a stadium they hit well in? Went to bed after the 9th, glad to see it paid off pulling your highest OPS guy for a pinch runner with 2 outs in the 8th inning. Did Hinch have anything to say about that after the game?
Oh no !Will we ever win again? Are we the Washington Bullets? (gets in the fetal position) Seriously, A little adversity won't hurt anybody. Bathe in this losing streak for the glory will be eternal.
At the 1.15 mark Hinch is asked about pulling Alvarez. His reply will probably just anger people more. I wonder how well he slept after watching Diaz's at bats in Yordan's spot.
How can this team be so talented but go on so many losing streak. This team can probably lose to the Yankees in a seven game series even though their starting rotation sucks
One of Hinch's dumbest answers/reasons ever. He equates pulling Alvarez as being a no-brainer. Yeah.... there was no brain present.
Remember when we were rolling into the playoffs? Those were the days. I feel very disappointed right now. When your ace can't get you out of a rut, you are in a serious rut. Time to shake up the lineup a bit.
Verlander was his usual self, went 7 giving up 2 runs with double digit Ks and no walks...it's extremely disappointing to not only get him another W with that line but to lose the friggin game as well. Everyone is going to say as long as we are healthy heading to the post season we should be good, luckily we have 30+ games to work this crap out of our system and get physically and mentally healthy.
You give me a molotov. And two good men. We can take all of their moneyball. I know how they move the money. I looked it up on the google. And we can take it.
That will just about do it for home field in the LCS or WS. Disappointing that we seem to hit a lull in August yet the yanks with all their injuries just keep chugging along. We are not the best team in the AL. Maybe 2nd best.
I think that answer is about what everyone would expect despite most not agreeing with it. He did something similar a while back late in a tied game with Brantley that was also annoying.
To me Alex Cora seems to me the Real Manager not Hinch. Championships 2017 Astros, 2018 Red Sox That is no coincidence. Alex Cora is more relatable to Latin Players and has better in game Strategy as a Manager than AJ Hinch.
If Alex Cora became the Astros Manager Nick Nurse with the Vipers, Now Champion Raptors, Replacing Mike DAntoni Those are huge what ifs, for the Astros and the Rockets.
Hinch will always be consistent with this type of move... whether it’s a regular season game vs Oakland, or game 5 of the World Series. The only argument against it is if you feel Alvarez has good enough speed to run the bases.
