After losing Game 1 and Game 2 by a combined 52 points, Vegas somehow is making the Jazz a 3 point favorite. Scott Foster confirmed?
I don't know why people are making such a big deal out of this. That's a pretty small spread. And this is a must win game for a pretty damn good team playing at home. Utah literally has to win this one or the series is statistically over since no team has ever recovered from an 0-3 deficit. It stands to reason they'll leave it all out there on Saturday night. And on top of that, it's not unthinkable(in fact, it's probable) that the Rockets experience a letdown due to complacency.
curious, are the Clippers the favorite. Bucks/Detroit is a different animal, as Detroit really shouldn't even be in the playoffs -- esp with Griffin out.
Honestly that line seems about right. It is very hard to beat a 50 win team in the playoffs three straight times. The Jazz have a strong home court and they have to have this game.
The Warriors should be ready to wrestle home court from the Clippers. I cannot see a situation where the Warriors lose. A loss tonight by the Warriors would be very telling.
Over the years, I've noticed how popular it is to apply "logical" scenarios to every game, of every series, in every year. This is the whole 0-2, going Home to a proud fan base, needing a win, story. Every story has so-called valid reasons a sweep won't occur. And if the sweep doesn't occur, then the media and fans immediately choose one of the old stories to wear the crown of reason for this loss. Maybe also add this to the story, Rockets beat Utah by 21 in Game 3 last year @Utah,,,with a 28 pt lead after 3 Quarters Rockets beat Utah by 13 in Game 4 @Utah.
I'm not saying the Rockets can't win Game 3. I think it's a tossup. But it's human nature. The Rockets got comfortable after going up 2-0 against the T'Wolves last year in the first round and got rolled in Game 3. It could happen again.
Honestly, this feels like a heads up for bettors more than a complain for Vegas. Also, you know lines are set for the sole purpose of getting more people to bet, not always reflect win probability
I will gladly be wrong. Didn't the Jazz win game 2 in Houston, which put pressure back on the Rockets in game 3 last year? If I had to guess, the Rockets win the series in 5.
