just now on tnt, in response to Chauncey and jalen doing the “im not making an excuse but here’s an excuse” routing and blaming the loss on iggy being hurt. Paul pierce was exasperated that they said they needed their glue guy despite four all stars
this is like people blaming OKC’s issues on Roberson being out...yeah, he was important defensively, but u still had Russ, PG, and Adams on the roster...Roberson was their 4th most important starter... Iggy makes a genuine impact defensively, but the media needs to cut the bullsh*t. Were 4 all stars/2 MVP’s in Curry, KD, Klay, and Donkey on the court? They were? Ok, then no excuses.
Honestly there were large stretches of the season where luc was our 4th most important player (not to be confused with best — etc Eric gordon). When Roberson was hurt everyone talked about him being gone hurting OKC but I remember no one saying anything about the artist formerly known as Luc.
By "glue guy", does that mean they take Iguodala to the back shed with a shotgun in hand if his knee is gimp?
Same experts wont put an asterisk on Warriors or Cavs winning while other teams are injured: Beverley, Kyrie, Bogut, etc.
Backtracking because ALL of them were wrong about how good the Rockets were. None of them watched the Rockets & just assumed GS would kill us based off starpower. No real assessment on the X's & O's of the series. It's just "Golden State has KD, Steph & Klay, Houston only has Harden & CP. GS wins". These guys are paid trolls
2 time MVP in Stephanie and 1 time MVP in cupcakes along with 2 all star players and they still need a declining Iggy?!?!? Bless their heart
Media be like: KD is the best player Klay is this best two way guard Curry is the straw that stirs the drink Draymond is the glue guy Iggy is the glue guy Who gives a crap, they got beat
This is exactly what I'm saying. "We're the best team of all time! It's a privilege for you to watch us!" *shimmy shimmy* "We lost because our 5th best player was injured!" QQ So sick of these self-important blowhards. The sooner this dynasty implodes, the better the NBA will be.
I'm not going to be that guy that says Iggy being out just didn't matter, of course it did. That being said, his biggest impact is on the defensive side, in which our offense was already freaking terrible. His impact would have been much more glaring if one of our wings (Gordon) just want off completely and scored about 30, but that didn't happen.
