Only other possibility is dropping down to 12 pitchers and putting Sipp or Joe Smith on the DL. Looks like Kemp jumped over Fisher as an OF option and provided the same speed with better defense.
Skeptical of Davis ability to hit ML pitching but he’s certainly gotta be better than fisher. It’s a shame the FOs stubborn commitment to Gattis is blocking White from getting a chance
The main knock on Davis is that even though he hits the ball hard, he usually ends up hitting hard grounders. I wonder if they tried to tweak his swing path to get the ball into the air more often.
Nope, For all of the Tucker hype (Deservedly so) I think Alvarez will be just as good as Tucker if not better.
I posted in the other thread... If not Fisher, then Reddick's leg is worse than thought or they bite the bullet and DFA Sipp.
Interesting that they moved Cody Bohanek up to Fresno to fill in for Davis, leaving Sierra and Arauz as the only MIF in QC (and Shaver as the only other healthy 3b option) the obvious and boring move would be to move Kyle Davis to QC, but it could also pre-empt a move of Valdez or Nova to make their full season debuts
Robles burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old in 2015 when he finished with a cameo in Quad Cities, but his monentum has pretty much stalled since then. This season is going to be crucial for him to get back on the radar... which might be odd to say, considering that he won't turn 21 until November.
Cionel Perez @ Frisco: 5.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K Both of the hits he allowed were solo homers. The top third of the order, which consists of Myles Straw, Josh Rojas, and Taylor Jones, are all currently 2-3 with an RBI; Straw's came on an RBI double. Rojas smacked a solo homer (2, 3 season), and Jones' RBI came on a single.
Miguelangel Sierra with another 2 hit day. He’s had 2 hits in 5 of his last 7 games and his ops is up to 774. Unfortunately he is also striking out >1/3 of his PA.
Really really encouraged by Rojas’ start in AA. Hitting for average, hitting for power, not striking out, walking at a good clip, playing all over the diamond. Dude might be a star.
Kyle Tucker just hit a 2-run homer for Fresno, his 4th of the season. A.J. Reed added a solo homer (8) later in the 1st inning.
