Many teams are stumbling into the playoffs with multiple injuries like the Spurs, Pelicans, Warriors, Celtics, and Cavaliers. If we win it all, will the media gives us the respect we deserve or will we be given an asterisk championship like the Warriors in 2015? The media already gives us asterisk championships in 1994 and 1995 since Michael Jordan wasn't fully playing. I know Jordan played in the tail end of the 1995 season (he only played 17 games) and lost to the Magic in the playoffs who we beat in the finals but the Bulls also beat the Sonics, Jazz, and Jazz in 1996, 1997, and 1998, who all beat us in the playoffs in those respective years. Would you be okay with an asterisk championship?
You could put all the special characters on that championship and i wouldnt care. A ring is a ring is a ring.
If we made everybody leave Clutchfans who was not in an asterisk job or occupation, asterisk house, or asterisk relationship, had not attended an asterisk college, or was not the result of an asterisk marriage, this place would be empty. Life is asterisks. Damn right we'd be OK with it.
This argument is one of the most ridiculous ones in all of sports. The Jordan thing is the most ridiculous. All of the Bulls championships should have an asterisk because Jordan never had to face Jordan - correct? Every single team has the same opportunity to incur an unfortunate injury (see Luc). It's part of sports. No one can say how the team would have done had the injury not occurred. And, certainly, it could not be said that a team would have won the championship if Leonard or <insert Warrior here> had been healthy. Assumably the team would certainly play better with the injured players healthy, but to say they would have definitely won the championship is a gross exaggeration.
What the hell are you talking about? We're missing a key rotation player and have no idea yet if he'll even be available for the postseason. Plus who knows what Ryno's status will be for the first round. If we win it all, we earned it. No asterisks.
Basically, if you're saying you're not okay with an asterisk championship, you're actually saying "I'd rather this whole season have been for nothing than for us to be in the history books." That's crazy. I would like to hear a legitimate argument for that side, though.
theres no such thing as an asterik championship. theres only one champion at the end and thats never taken away
No such thing as an asterisk championship. I don't care if every all star is injured on every team we play against, a championship is a championship.
Some of you guys put way too much stock into what the national media thinks. I mean who gives a ****? It’s just another mans opinion, and I don’t care who it is it’s not going to take a trophy off the shelf. You can only play who’s in front of you. This asterisk **** is complete and utter nonsense.
Why would a Rockets championship get an asterisk this year when the 2015 Golden State championship does not? Every team GSW played in the playoffs that year had major injuries to them.
People who use asterisks look like an a$$ !!! It means that you were unsuccessful in proving your point and have to resort to hypotheticals!!! ....... ....... .......
