Warming this thread up real quick. Teams spend millions trying to protect their QBs and this CLOWN (yup) spends the week SCRIPTING to use our QB as a receiver and blocker on the opening drive. Inexcusable.
I hate O'Brien in big games. So many trick plays to start the game it is weird. Watson has allowed you to use motion and option so you decide to try to add gimmicks to set the tone? Just reads as him being scared to coach it straight up when he faces a good team. Vrabel with 10 on defense and 2 man rushes in the beginning as well.
I'm extremely confused as to why we were content to rush three guys most of the game. Why did we run basically no stunts the entire game? We respected their speed way too much with ten yard cushions. We need to play more bump and run. Just a terrible defensive game plan.
The argument to keep O'Brien around just so Watson doesn't have to learn a new system next year is over. You almost had me convinced last week. However as witnessed again tonight, Watson simply makes broken plays that have nothing to do with O'Brien's coaching or play calling. In fact, O'Brien's gimmickry too often exposes Watson to unnecessary risk. Bad coaches only instill bad habits. So, I much rather go through the growing pains of new system now with Watson when he's still very early in his career. Thus, I will stand by this the rest of the season: FIRE BILL O'BRIEN.
Yes, start the conversation again. KC knew what to do with his gimmicky playcalls. He adjusted too late to go to the running game. And if they had scouted KC-WAS game, KC was vulnerable to deep balls. Watson was money tonight on his deep throws. And please no more excuses for Izzo. Maybe Vrabel is in over his head too. First-time coaches OB has brought in are not good.
Plus how long did it take Andy Reid to put in his new offensive system? Just this training camp. OB wasted the whole training camp insisting on his complex playbook.
Maybe only Watt, Merc, and Clowney knew the stunts? IDK BTW what does Romeo do aside from sitting in the box?
after the first drive where the paperweight received 2 offensive penalties to kill the drive, B.O.B reverted back to his uggs way. It's almost like he hears whispers of Brady in the back of his head. You have to keep moving the pocket for Watson. I love al michaels, " You can't drop back pass with this offensive line." I also loved when Chris colinsworth murmured "he good." when watson scored on his houdini act. Houdini there you have it, his nickname.
Yeah izzo needs to go he’s not a first year coach he was actually suppose to be one of the good special team coaches in the nfl.
This is a poorly coached team still overall despite Watson's amazing play early in his career. O'Brien coming out with those gimmick plays killed momentum and him okaying promoting Vrabel is looking like one of the biggest mistakes of the off season. The defense has personnel issues but they seem poorly coach overall as well. Let's not even get started on the continued special teams shitty play especially on coverage. And why doesn't Fuller return more kicks? They only go to him when they are desperate it seems. Poor coaching all around.
Again, I didn’t see anything wrong with the front 7. Even when Watt and Merc went down, I thought Zach and Dylan played very well. I seemed, just like the Patriots game, our secondary let us down. JJo looked horrible and Banks smh I don’t even know why he’s out there.
It's just funny we came out with similar plays we used against Tennessee like KC didn't watch tape of that game
This was a calling card of Kubiak losses. Chasing 2-3 possession leads for 3 quarters and garbage time scores to make the game look closer on the scoreboard.
