I caught a little bit of Putin's responses to Kelly this morning and couldn't help but laugh at the confirmation of where Trump has been getting his talking points. What a cuckpuppet. Putin Praises Trump, Slams Dems: They Don’t Want to Recognize Their Mistakes by Ken Meyer | 10:34 am, June 2nd, 2017 During a conversation with Megyn Kelly, Vladimir Putin said that Democrats and other critics need to stop with their “nonsense” and “idle prattle” about how he ordered a campaign to mess with the 2016 election. Putin spoke with Kelly at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, where he talked about Russia’s need to protect its interests and national sovereignty. In time, Kelly brought up how the United States and other nations have repeatedly accused Russia of meddling with their sovereignty by launching cyber campaigns to impact foreign politics. Kelly also noted that hacking and disinformation campaigns often entail a multitude of factors, and the intelligence community say that the indications point to Russian perpetrators. Putin responded that there was no proof when hackers can launch their cyberattacks while disguising their digital footprints to implicate Russia. Putin went on to say that President Trump was the most efficient candidate during the election, and Democrats would rather say that Russia intervened instead of admitting that their policies didn’t resonate with voters. “[The Democrats] made a mistake and they don’t want to recognize this mistake right now,” said Putin. “IP addresses can be invented, a child can do that! Your underage daughter could do that. That is not proof.” Putin went on to say that the allegations against Russia lack any major substance, and that improper behavior within the Democratic Party that was the real issue at hand. He also stated that blaming Russia and accusing them of disinformation “reminds me of anti-Semitism and blaming the Jews. This is disinformation.” Putin also went on to talk about Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, and also about his previous insistence that his government has never commissioned “state-level” hacking against a foreign government. Kelly’s new NBC show premieres on Sunday, and it will start with an exclusive interview with Putin.
What does Trump have to hide? Conway won't rule out Trump trying to block Comey's testimony http://www.politico.com/story/2017/06/02/kellyanne-conway-trump-james-comey-testimony-239061
one should consider the source. ever since Trump won the election, pretty much every announcement that "alternative facts" Conway has made ended up being contradicted by team Trump.
My sense... Trump and team are floating this out (much like his threat about tapes) to gauge reactions as well as a possible threat of action should investigators/prosecutors get around to calling him to appear. I'd be curious if he ever testified in past actions against him (as private citizen)?
That won't hold. One - Comey doesn't work for Trump any longer. Two - Trump himself has spoken and tweeted publicly about this. Like with pleading the fifth, once you start addressing the subject, it's very difficult to plead executive privilege.
Hmm... maybe it was all about money? White House, Russian bank differ on Jared Kushner secret meeting http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...hner-russian-bank-meeting-20170601-story.html Lawmakers ask whether looming debt left Jared Kushner vulnerable to Russian influence http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/lawm...-kushner-vulnerable-russian/story?id=47780422
It's all about the money. Timing is everything in life. Kushner had the bad luck of overpaying for his building ($1.8 BIllion). The Metlife building, a comparable, sold at that time for about $600 per square foot. Kushner paid double that. The sale was completed just before the 2008 market crash. The note has a kicker coming in at 6% now. Coupled that with an occupancy rate of just 70% and you can see even the super rich can have money problems. Kushner needs an infusion of money fast.
Former officials: Trump seemed prepared to lift Russia sanctions 'in exchange for absolutely nothing' http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-wanted-to-lift-russia-sanctions-days-after-taking-office-2017-6
I agree. trump and his minions may attempt to hide behind executive privilege, but as with Nixon and the tapes, the attempt would fail, in my opinion. Logic hasn't stopped trump from doing irrational things, though. We'll see.
I wouldn't put it past him, but if people can show him why it would be unsuccessful beforehand, he won't try it. Trump couldn't stomach another humiliating defeat.
Putin is pretty much taunting at this point. I think he is also getting impatient waiting for the sanctions to get lifted. He will have to try to get it done soon before Trump finds himself no longer in office. Putin reportedly wanted an early meeting, possibly in July, according to Russian media. Due to Trump's clumsiness in covering up his own Russian connections, Putin may not get that meeting soon enough for his tastes. The White House, of course, is remaining silent regarding Putin's election hacking taunts. Trump is very much compromised. And, at this point, he and his family and circle, including perhaps senior members of the GOP, are clearly vulnerable to whatever info Putin may choose to leak regarding their connections to Russia. So far, with the latest Bannon-Trump-GOP rejection of our allies and global order, Putin is checking off another box on Aleksandr Dugin's checklist for rebuilding the Soviet empire . In terms of foreign affairs, the Trump-Bannon-GOP alliance has sidelined America and Russia is free to keep pushing their agenda with no pushback. Putin won bigly. And it makes me cringe to hear and see him basically taunting the world about it. ----- Adding to the palace intrigue, demonstrating just some of the problems of having a compromised White House, Joe Scarborough is claiming Bannon is using Russia leaks to sideline Kushner so Bannon can continue to push his own agenda: https://www.axios.com/scarborough-steve-bannon-is-the-real-president-2430129219.html "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough repeatedly called Steve Bannon "President Bannon" on his show Friday: "TIME magazine was right: Steve Bannon is the president of the United States." "He has gone in. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about policy. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about politics. Donald Trump doesn't know anything about anything. He can get up and give a good speech. You listen to him talk about any topic and he wanders from sentence to sentence to sentence. So Steve Bannon is now the President of the United States. And that was more clear yesterday than ever before." Scarborough also suggested that "President Bannon" was the source behind the negative leaks on Jared Kushner and his ties to Russia, noting that Bannon bragged about having damaging information on Trump's son-in-law in the days leading up to the reports that Kushner was being looked at by the FBI.
Report: Russia Launched Cyberattack On Voting Vendor Ahead Of Election Russia's military intelligence agency launched an attack before Election Day 2016 on a U.S. company that provides voting services and systems, according to a top secret report posted Monday by The Intercept. The news site published a report, with redactions, by the National Security Agency that described the Russian spear-phishing scheme, one it described as perpetrated by the same intelligence agency — the GRU — sanctioned by the Obama administration over the 2016 cyber-mischief. http://www.npr.org/2017/06/05/53164...yberattack-on-voting-vendor-ahead-of-election
It was very cool of you to post it. But please be prepared to post it about a dozen more times, because the Trump supporters will keep claiming there is no evidence Russia did anything wrong.
This is a report about how the Russians were able to get thousands of voters' information by hacking a company that makes voting machines.
If the investigation reveals that Trump is not a special agent for Russia, would you guys vote for him in 2020?
Abdicating our leadership role in the world? Cozying up to Saudi Arabia, the main players in the 9/11 attack? Maximizing prison sentences for drug offenders? Building a wall on the Texas border? Who doesn't want a double dose of that?
For the record, most folks I know think he's likely what classifies as a "useful idiot" with Russia and he's likely got some financial ties that give oligarches/Putin some leverage over him but to answer your question No. If you think independents and liberals only care about the bad Russian spy novel and don't pay attention to the issues you haven't been paying attention to was really is driving the high volume of activism. -His healthcare bill flat out sucks -his tax plan is no plan at all -his "infrastructure" plan looks like more burden for the states and just ton of toll roads -he's ruining relationships with our Allies -he's fueling terrorist propaganda -he doesn't believe in a state department which does things like helping stabilize governments Middle East countries. -He doesn't care about the earth And he's a petty whinny entitled b$&* who is incompetent on all levels except media manipulation.
No sir I would not. Nor would I have ever voted for Hillary. I would vote for McCain, Romney, and Obama before I would ever consider voting for Trump's (whatever the hell you describe his craziness as being) and Hillary's fake benignity.
