Crazy talk. i expect Nanu to be waived or traded before opening day. He’s not making our team.

    He's still overrated.

Gets his points and team gets blown out. Poor defender and passer.

Better than Ryno yes but this isn't a catastrophe

He would have been a great fit here. Stop it.

Not if the asking price was Ariza + Gordon or Capela

    Huh?

First off he isn't really a "star" anymore.

Second he is a ball stopper which is death in a D'Antoni offense. He was a ball stopper again last night.

His defense is bad, he doesn't communicate or switch. It was bad again last night.

Even with a good shooting performance last night, he was a -15.

Trading Ryan Anderson for him was fine. However the reality is that he isn't likely to change his game after a dozen years in the league.

If you want to dwell on missing out on a player, it should be Paul George; who is a vastly superior player.

Anderson is a great fit too and more importantly, he is here right now. People need to shut up about players who are not on the team and focus on who is on the team.

He would be a really good fit if he played different than his entire career. That is to say if he stopped being a ball stopper, moved without the ball and communicated on defense. He is capable of doing those things but no guarantee that he actually would. Last night he was doing his usual ball stopping and not communicating on defense.

There is a reason the Rockets wouldn't offer anything of value for him.

I agree he'd make a great 3rd option. But I don't think we trade valuable guys for 3rd options.

People are acting like we lost on a superstar

I'm way over it. Just saying that it's silly to say "oh we didn't need/want him anyway." For Anderson, it was a no-brainer

No one would have minded a Ryno for Melo swap outside of NYK.

the problem is that it wasn't for Anderson, it was for Ariza and Ego...so no thanks, Morey was right to pass on that

As hard as it is to believe, you managed to post something even dumber than your previous post.

It's not Harden "has no help" but rather "look at how perfectly the others are playing to win games!"

    Noise...all of it

I'm past the Melo signing and just think we need a big who can put the ball on the floor

Anderson is amazing from behind the arc but is super predictable and don't think it will go over well in playoff ball

I really think we need to sign josh smith. Ya it's josh smith but CP3/Gordan/Smith is a good bench with a playmaking big also

Yes josh smith is the answer for the rockets. he isn't even better than moute at this point and is a way better contributor. its 2017 josh smith is no longer relevant

There are multiple ways to win. Ryno as a stretch 4 might be predictable, but an offense led by Harden and CP3 is unstoppable. Also Josh Smith? You mean the same Josh Smith that could only find a job overseas? Yeah... no thanks.

The addition of Melo to the Thunder or the Rockets could only be judged in rounds 2+ of the playoffs.
The Rockets, in particular, already have plenty of offense "generally".
It's just when presented with a great defensive team their offense might struggle, and another guy who can go get his would be great. will he be a negative defensively? how much so?

From the Rockets perspective, Ryno already sucks defensively. Just a matter of whether or not Melo would "stop the ball" too much (saw some of that last night for sure, but he was effective... Rockets already have a potential ball stopper type superstar in Harden)

Rockets would be fine without Capela....Nene is our best center anyway. Pj Tucker could play backup center....i'm serious! You can find another Capela easy. You can't find another Melo..Rockets missed out!
