Gotta get my name changed on my license. I got my citizenship in March and legally changed my named to "Kevin", not the monkey language name I had previously . Been putting off getting it done because I'm never in the mood to wait 4-5 hours for the rudest people on earth but I can't put it off much longer. Know of any not-so busy DPS around town? I have no illusions that there will be at least a 2 hr wait but 2 hr is better than 5 hours...

What hours are you available? It's best to go close to when they open.

The one in Baytown was quick for me.

If you're up for a little drive, try the DPS in Liberty, TX. Guaranteed to be no more than 5-6 people ahead of you.

I'm off every other Friday but otherwise it would have to be lunch hours. I'm planning on going somewhere when it opens at 8 on my Friday off. Dang, Baytown and Liberty are so far from me, but I guess the wait has to be lesser as you get further away from the city... Not sure if the hour drive is worth avoiding the crowd. Maybe it is...

THAT one is horrible! I went in there before I tried Baytown since it's right down the street for me. I do NOT recommend the Tidwell one at all.

The service is horrible and both times I went it was PACKED! People standing all over the place including outside the door, not to mention there aren't many chairs for people to use. Also a very small building.

Nobody goes to the DPS anymore. It's too crowded. So you should be fine

The wait can be randomly bad.

The DPS office in Alvin usually does not have a wait.
