I've always liked Wilson. I thought he was better than luck, though luck is great also.

It's interesting that the Texans gave them brown and clowney for next to nothing. Made them legit super bowl contenders.

Again, no one offered a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Brown. On the decline. (Picks) Texans got Rankin, who was traded for Carlos Hyde. Also, They got Lonnie Johnson, Jr. from that trade
Clowney. Turned into Gaeron Conley, Jacob Martin, and Mingo.

Seattle is not winning a SuperBowl with that defense.

Luck did live up to his billing but Wilson had a 300 passing yard 100 rushing yards game that they lost unfortunately but thats unreal.

Watson is in Wilson's league in terms of total package.

Too bad Watt is hurt but the Texans need to keep a line as should everyone and receivers.

Clowney is mot as good as Damarcus Ware or Von Miller. Thats kind of unfair but that was rare especially in today's nfl in terms of teams built on defense and he isnt Ray Lewis

You're invested in Watt up front

No one offered 2 1st round picks for Laremy Tunsil either. NOONE. Until someone did. The difference? Miami was willing to wait till someone met their price; even let Tunsil play the year if no one did Texans weren't willing to do the same with Clowney; and I'm sure other teams knew this. .Dolphins even played for media game better. They went on about how they loved Tunsil and they were not going to trade him. Held their ground on the price. What the Texans should have done for Clowney.

There's something to be said about knowing what you want and paying (or receiving) what you want to get it. Texans wanted to get rid of Clowney. They did. They wanted to add Tunsil. They did. I give them credit for that. I dont think they negotiated the best in those trades. But they got the team they wanted on the field this year.

That is horrible return for top end talent. Are we trying to spin Duane brown for a Carlos Hyde 1 year rental several years later as a good deal?

The declining brown is having his third straight good year for them.

Hyde has 850 yards and 4 TDS and almost no receiving yards. That's production teams find from low draft picks or the waiver wire, not in return for a good LT or a third round pick

Blame Rick Smith and Bob McNair.....not O'Brien for Brown. I see you ignore Lonnie Johnson.

Lonnie isn't starting, they traded for conley and Hargreaves to take his snaps, and he has a 33 pff grade

Genuinely curious to see how much Clowney gets paid now after a 3 sack regular season.

Clowney looked like a shell of his former self last night.

Brown hurt his knee and is out for the playoffs.

Brooks hurt his shoulder and is out for the playoffs.

Wow, JDC had 3 sacks and J Martin, the throw in in the trade had 3.5.
JJ had 4 before he was hurt.

In a world where sacks are gold like.

Don't know if this was a bad trade or not.

Everyone thinks they could have gotten more but what if the league got it figured out and Seattle took a chance for the free year with JDC?

Not saying track was good, just saying maybe, just maybe that's all they can do and they really didn't want him on the team anymore....

Clowney is just never going to be a consistent double digit sack guy. He relies way too much on his freak athleticism and burst, but doesn't have the discipline or technique to have secondary or tertiary moves when his initial attack is stymied. He's great against the run, but any OL with talent will be able to keep him off the scoresheet in terms of sacks.

Still a bad trade. You would have gotten the same deal had he left in free agency after this season. All you got out of the deal was not having Clowney on the roster this season. Dumb

You can add to this that now that he is in SEA they’re base is 4-3 so they’re using him back at DE where he was even LESS effective against the run this year. If you watch him he tends to get bottled up on the inside and has to pursue the run from the inside out. When JDC was here we had him at 3-4 LB most of time where he could use that freak athleticism to stop the run. Yea less sacks but the havoc he created by being freed up was actually the right way to play him in our defense.

They loss the trade. Everyone know that. Not sure how anyone tries to defend it. Between Gaine, BOB and whoever else they screwed that up but looking at it now the win you do get out out of it is just not paying the guy top three money. Not much of a win but it’s all we’ve got.
