It's more fun, come on! @Jontro, you collect cards? What is a box break you ask? Via google:

A box break is an service event where we or a "breaker" will open a box, case, or pack of collectible trading cards for individuals or groups of people during a live feed broadcast so everyone may see and share in the excitement of the "event".

Oh and I was lucky to hit an Olajuwon, auto pinnini card!!! LUCKY ME!!!

i'm sure i still have them somewhere, but i've moved around like at least 10 times since then and don't know in which box and in which warehouse they're in. probably won't get much for them anyway.

I don't get it. If a service breaks open the box online, then who gets the gum? What's the point ?

Around 88-89 I had a friend who was big into baseball card collecting. I went to the local shop with him a few times. I was not into baseball, but they had Fleer cards from Olajuwon's rookie year. I probably bought 10 packs or so over the few times we went to the store trying to get an Olajuwon rookie. I never got an Olajuwon but ended up with 3 Jordan rookies :)

i've been in on the group breaks for ~3 years now (after ~15-20 years of stopping with cards, like the rest of us). It's fun, sometimes profitable, but mostly a money sink I assume

My brother does these. He's pulled $200 cards before (based off eBay value) multiple times.
