You know you've made it when you get mentioned in the comics!

Nice one. What about being invited to Letterman? What a shame he didn't go. I would be killing to watch it. :(

    Cutting down

The Rockets' and Team Yao's efforts to limit the off-court workload on center Yao Ming has become more pronounced in recent days.

Sports Illustrated opted to put Yao on next week's cover, his second SI cover since October, but Yao's representatives declined to take part in a photo shoot. They also passed on a photo shoot for a Time magazine cover.

Yao's representatives also turned down television requests, passing on appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn.

Yao will shoot another television commercial, for Gatorade, but that will come during the All-Star break and is expected to be his last commercial commitment until after the season.

    Just for rockHEAD, I'll re-phrase:

You know you've made it when you get mentioned in the mainstream comics!

Bill Hinds (writier of the strip you posted) does work with Jeff Millar on "Tank". Millar used to be a Houstonian (may still be). Hinds may have been as well.

Yeah, I remember that. They used to do a strip called "Second Chances", about a married couple both on their second marriage. It seemed somewhat autobiographical for Millar.
