Why settle for the 3?

I don't understand why the Rockets settle for the 3 so much instead of running a proper offense. Even Clyde and Matt were talking about how the Rockets get into lulls in offense where ball movement stagnates.

What causes ball movement to stop? Are coaches not reinforcing the need for ball movement? Or is it the inexperience of the players? Or maybe the players are tired?

We can run the ball so well, and I don't like it when we just hold the ball and shoot a 3 over and over again. I believe this is why we lose leads by losing momentum, which stops ball movement and then we take bad shots.

Anyways, just looking for some thoughts.
