Rather than talk about the Suns going overboard, which I believe was the topic of his thread,
I was wondering where clean fun ends and insensitivity begins.

Do people feel the banner above, displayed on a national and popular website is a bit racist?

If so, isnt this just a play on words (chow mein, the fried noodles)? Where is the line drawn.

If not, how is this different than what Shaq said that caused an uproar?

I personally do not have a strong feeling either way, but was just wondering what people think. It is getting so hard in the world to be "PC" .

There is a differance between "PC" and good taste. That graphic is simply bad taste.

I don't think it's racist. Yao isn't portrayed in a negative light (in terms of his nationality or race), his name just happens to be extremely similar to a particular food.

But I can see how people might gather that, afterall if a joke like this was made about a black athlete whose name happened to rhyme with say, "watermelon," there'd be some serious speculation.
