What do you mean by prize. If playing chess counts, I once won 4000 dollars by coming in first in a tournment.

Um.. was this thread meant to include stuff from gambling?

I mean a lotto ticket is one thing, but winning a poker tourney or something is kind of different in nature, it takes skill (somewhat).

I figured this thread was concerning stuff like raffles, etc where everyone has an equal chance of winning..

The most expensive thing I've ever won was concert tickets.

My Dad won $2,000 on a $10 daily double bet at Riudoso Downs in New Mexico when I was about 9 years old.

I won round-trip tickets in the US at my work. My boss' company credit card was used so much she'd get enough FF miles for 4 tickets. So, she held a lottery for everyone in her department. I had a premonition I would win, and I did.

Recently, I won a couple nights' stay at a fancy B&B. But the B&B is in Washington State. It'd been nice if they gave me tickets to Seattle along with it.

And, once my house got hit by a tornado and I got a nice insurance settlement. It was like winning money.
