I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but Governor Rick Perry is interested in finding out what Texans think about the speed limit roll back to 55 miles an hour from 70. It's fast and easy. You can vote at http://www.texasmotorists.org/speed_limits/speed_limit_poll1.asp
Everyone on I-10 is still going 80. If I try to go 60 I almost get run off the road. Dumb speed limits... Does anyone know what percentage of emissions comes from cars? I'm betting that industry puts out several times as much but I guess it's easier to screw up with every day people than to bite the hand that pays for your political office.
Wrong, NOx breath! From the EPA website: More good info on NOx: http://www.epa.gov/air/urbanair/nox/index.html For the record, I operate four boilers that must be monitored continuously for NOx emissions. In fact, all these boilers will be shut down in 2003 because of the new EPA NOx standards. If anyone drives Hwy. 225 past the Shell plant in Deer Park, you will notice all the new construction. This is a new co-gen plant being built, which will have 8 low-NOx boilers to replace the ones currently in use. Industry is doing it's part as well.
