Does anyone have a video iPod that they have connected to their TV via the dock? If so, have you ever watched any downloaded content (e.g. TV shows) on the TV? If so, what is the quality like? Does the picture fill the screen?

    Thanks

There's a thread all about these somewhere with a lot of posts.

I think it's in the christmas presents thread.

Thanks for the pointer but I do not see the answer to my specific question in any of the video iPod threads.

It's not bad quality, because it's the same resolution as the Television. :)

I guess that is the crux of my question. For example, if I play it via QuickTime, I do not get the full screen resolution on my computer. I cannot expand it to full screen.

I am assuming by your answer that the video will fill up the TV screen.

    Thanks

It does fill up the whole screen and you shouldn't be able to tell the difference except on some scenes with vivid colors. (Cable has more bandwidth than H.254 codec can spit out)

I neglected to follow my personal rule prior to posting this which is "google is your friend". I found that I don't need the dock to display to TV. I can just use an AV cable with the caveat that Apple send the video through the red connector instead of the yellow. I tried it out and things look just fine.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
