*flashback to 2 weeks ago* -- I break my 85gram Carlton PowerFlo badminton raquet off my leg, cracking the frame all the way through.

Since then, I have been searching for a worthy replacement. The local sports shops have the crappiest selection imaginable, so I have logged hours upon hours online, slogging all over the internet for a good racquet at a reasonable price. I have been to Canadian sites, American sites, British sites and even a German site in my quest.

Finally, I find it. A top of the line racquet with all the characteristics I'm looking for. Ideal weight and balance, reputable brand name, and lo and behold, it's on sale! Great price. Even includes a free T-shirt and replacement strings as part of a promotion.

I've done my homework and this is the racquet I want, so I snap out my credit card and swiftly register with the site to make my purchase...

Then I see it...

The fine print...

"We ship anywhere within the continental United States. We do not ship to international locations."

Argh!

I don't get it. Why would a company do this? It's not like they would be losing money by shipping to Canada, or even overseas, providing they tacked on the extra shipping charge to the price. Why isolate the market like that?

Anyway, I think it sucks. I wanted that racquet and now I can't have it. It sucks. :( :(

If you can't find a retailer in Canada to buy it from, your best bet would probably be to order it from that company, have it shipped to someone in the US and then have that person ship it to you. It would cost you a few bucks extra for the additional shipping, but you'd be getting the racquet you really want. Do you know anyone in the US?

Victor Pegasus SQ20

'THE' top of the line racquet from Victor of Germany.

Play with a Victor and you'll never go back to another racquet again.
This racquet is a must-have for the offensively inclined singles
player. This racquet is a brand new addition to the Victor line
of racquets for the advanced professional player.

that bites, especially since it's THE one that you want...

E-mail me, I'll be a middle man if you want me to. I promise to wash my hands before handling any equipment headed to the Great White North. :)

Fadeaway -- Jeff and I would be happy to ship it to you if you'd like. Actually, he's already asleep so he has no idea I'm telling you this, but I'm certain he'd be willing to help out a fellow Rockets fan. E-mail us at his e-mail address if you're interested.

I guess it's a good thing he broke his raquet and not his shuttlecock.

Wow. Really? I'd love you guys forever if you would. :)

Actually, the site is offering free UPS ground shipping for a limited time, so I'd only have to pay the Houston to Newfoundland charge.

I'll email you.

Thanks for your offer too, RM95.

rH,

Your jerky spice rules. I have been making some pretty fiiiine jerky these days. We also used it on pork chops one night and they turned out great too. :)
