I have so many conflicts and questions about this whole thing, but I'll only address this one. How in the world did our intelligence system get caught so unaware? These guys were living in the country for years, taking flight lessons from our own companies, known to have an association with terrorist groups, stealing documents/badges from our own airlines...yet we were caught completely blind? Now they say that these guys were already on a 'watch list'...because they had pictures of them with suspects in the carrier bombing of a year or so ago. What exactly were we 'watching'?
Well, I guess everyone wonders the same. I just can't figure out what was different about the threat this time...
