Saw this on the front page of ESPN NBA and it's an insider with Chad Ford take on the 2005 free-agent class. Anyone know what's the deal?

I'm pretty sure that's the terms of his current contract. What he just signed with the Rockets is an extension, but I guess that his restricted free agent status for next summer is still intact. Remember, the whole deal with Orlando was that he was going to be a free agent at the end of this season. I guess that's still the case but maybe someone like Gater can give more detail.

It is for that very reason that we were able to trade for him...but way to stay on top of things. :)

He's supposed to be signing a max extension next month, is what I've been hearing.

I don't believe he's going to be a RFA next year anyway. If he was, he wouldn't really have the ability to just walk and join another team. Unless you think the Magic or Rockets wouldn't match a max deal (6 yr/ 80 mill) that would be less than what they could offer (7/90).
