In one week, McCain has lost more credibility points than the Dow Jones in my book and I am an independent voter. That doesn't mean I am going with Obama just yet but man is it frustrating to see this man destroy his reputation and integrity for the sake of one election. Combine that with his failed attempt to hijack and stamp his name on the Bailout package and the GOP leadership's historically embarrassing performance on the House floor, I am starting to believe the GOP led government bubble has reached its max and will burst this November similar to what happened to Democrats a decade ago. They have failed in so many areas that it is hard to fathom giving these guys another run at making reform to problems they created.

The GOP needs to crash, burn and have a rebirth with new fundamentals and leadership that reflects their principle ideology. The era of Karl Rove butchering campaigns to secure victory are coming to an end. Last time a major shift happened in the GOP was the post-Depression epoch when similar to today, a decade of GOP President's led the country into financial ruin. People have long forgotten those corrupt administration and the Tea-Pot Dome scandal but history proved to be very unkind to that government. It took the GOP 40 years to take back Congress with a new identity and set of goals. I loved those very principle outline in the Contract with America. However, today's Republican's are so out of touch with those principles that is is painful to watch them repeat the cycle of their own demise.

Farewell my friends until we meet in future where you have new a face, new leadership and a new purpose to for America. Perhaps this time you needn't call it Contract but Obligation to America.
