I just found out about this just now. I guess if I would actually get up and get my morning paper in the morning, I may have known there was a game. Dang, I would've liked to have seen that one.
I know, I was amazed when I found out we won. Considering we seem to have been struggling so far this is a really big win. Plus I knew someone who went to Stanford and this gets them back for football last year (ok not really but it's good to beat Stanford at a sport).
Well, it was a fantastic game, if you're a Texas fan. It was the typical Rick Barnes game, very tough defense, and a low-scoring, physical game. TJ Ford is all he's made out to be and more - 5 games in and he's the best player on the Texas team, Chris Owens played big and made some big free throws late and in OT, and Royal Ivey dominated All-American Casey Jacobsen on offense and defense and made some big shots down the stretch. And it didn't hurt that Stanford was horrendous from the line(sub-40%).
Poo, this is a tournament, right? Dell Classic or something is what I thought I read. Is it a tournament, and if so, when/against who is the next game for UT?
I don't think it's a tournament. It's called that, but there's only one game per team and 4 teams. The end of that game was great. TJ Ford & Chris Owens (especially on FT's which he sucks at) were incredible.
TJ is the best HS player I've ever seen. You Horns are lucky to have him. He could have picked programs like Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, etc.
