NEW BRAUNFELS, TX (RNN) - A dying Army veteran in Texas has a final request for anyone with a telephone.

He wants people to send him a text message.

Lee Hernandez, 47, is in hospice care at his home in New Braunfels, TX. He is suffering from a unknown illness that is causing his body to deteriorate and has undergone three brain surgeries, according to The Arizona Republic.

However, his wife, Ernestine Hernandez, said all he wants to do is talk to people. Despite suffering through intense pain, Lee Hernandez asked his wife to hold on to his phone "in case someone calls."

When the phone didn't ring, Ernestine Hernandez reached out to a support group, who helped spread the word. Michelle Fawbush, a member of a Facebook group for veterans from Arizona, made a post on July 11 that inspired many to reach out to Lee Hernandez.

"Ernestine always shares her days with Lee and pictures, and, when she told us about no one calling, asked us to send him a text or call," she said. "I asked her if I could share in a veterans page and so it began."

Since then, the 18-year Army veteran's phone has been ringing off the hook, according to Fawbush. They're getting so much support that they kindly asked supporters to text, not call.

"As you can imagine, it is ringing non-stop," Fawbush said. "As an Army wife, I know that, if my husband was in the situation, I would love people sending love."

Internet has way too many trolls. To put your phone number for everyone to see, is pretty brave.

most likely , a multiple sclerosis with Neuromyelitis optica complication, incidental finding though , Dilantin-Phenytoin could had helped his vision (or at least one eye )in this case
