The way they've been coming up, maybe we should have an Ultra-efficient Random Fitness Advice thread.

So here goes. I've been back to working out seriously for 2 months now. I really feel great, except for one thing. I can't do anything with my shoulders. OK, that's an exaggeration, flys are fine, but military press or the barbell equivalent kills me. I've got a little catch in a tendon on the front of my left shoulder, and it won't let me lift enough weight to get any benefit. I can lift really light weight fine, go for as long as I want, but as soon as I start getting a little heavy, my left shoulder will just give out. I dropped a dumbbell today on my second lift (and I didn't feel any pain at all). I won't be able to lift the weight at all The pain is really barely noticeable, a tiny bit in the joint, and a tiny bit in the tendon on the front. The catch is noticeable right off, though. I'd like to have decent shoulders, but I don't have a clue what to do.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just to let you know. I feel the same catch slightly when doing bench press, but it certainly isn't limiting me at this point.

    ????
My left shoulder is messed up to. Whenever I rotate it, it makes a loud crunching noise. And if I push myself too hard while working out, it starts killing me.

Yeah, you probably have a cartilage tear or something. I just finished physical therapy for one of those. First thing is stop doing the things that make it crunch or hurt. Second thing is see a doctor. He might say that you can make it better by working with a therapist to strengthen the muscles around your shoulder. It worked really well for me.

I'm going to Houston this weekend to watch boxing. Email me when you're coming back through. If I don't talk to another trainer first, you can have the job as long as your here.

When you masterbate is it all just forearm? If so, you need to use more shoulder.

I worked with a guy who had similar problems recently, I can show you a few things that over time will help. They require certain equipment though.
