    Reckless driving or dangerous driving is a major moving traffic violation. Texas PENAL code states reckless driving as: an offense if the person drives a vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property.

    From HPD: If you witness reckless driving (i.e. driving while intoxicated; weaving in and out of traffic; driving at a dangerous speed past posted speed limit; drivers late for Sunday service), note the street / intersection and direction of the driver, model and color of the car, and if possible license plate.

    Call HPD to dispatch a patrol car(s) to the area: 713-884-3131, selection option 0.

    I guess I have to report myself, I just got my license renewed. I had a lot of capias fines for traffic violations.

    The ironic thing is, once you finally get through, the offending driver is long gone.

    "Hello? This is Debbie Downer. I'm calling because a driver cut in front of me and sped off when I was taking my leisurely Sunday drive today at 5:00 pm. What? Oh, I know it's Monday and it's rush hour. My twin miniature poodles both fainted! Poor mopsy and popsy!...What was that you said? Make and model? Oh, I don't know. Green...car. They weren't white people, so I think it was the terrorists! Thank you!"
