Just reading around the net and watching on tv that there have been spontaneous tributes in countries all over the world - candelight vigils, piles of flowers left outside US embassy's, etc.

For as bad as these acts of terrorism are and as bad as people can behave, things like this help to restore my faith in humanity.

I saw footage on CNN of Russians placing flowers at the gates of the US embassy. Truly inspiring.........a bright spot.

I wish they would place a corpse of Bin Laden outside one of the US embassies.

That would be the best tribute.

The irony of tragedy can always be seen in the response that it ellicits. Hundreds of firefighters and policemen voluntarily rush into situations that nearly ensure death to help fellow humans. People throughout the world won't let savage acts of terrorism divert them from righteousness and justice. Freedom, democracy and, eventually, life will go on. For now though, all people can do is band together, offer help and pray for a better day.

The Chinese prime minister condemned the attacks and said that their deepest sympathies go out to the US. Japanese officials called it a horrible act of "cowardice." CNN and other sites have reaction from leaders all over the world.

I am just amazed at how many people are responding. It is pretty incredible.

Very true......and they are saying that 200+ firefighters and 60+ police officers are missing. God help them find safety if they are still alive, and if not, rest in peace. What a selfless, noble thing to do.
